UFIREG - A contribution to Europe's environmental health policy

UFIREG ist a EU-funded research project for the development of Europe's environmental health policy.

A major focus are ultrafine aerosol particles (UFPs) and their health implications in five European cities (Dresden, Augsburg, Prag, Ljubljana und Chernivtsi).

TROPOS is involved in the development and implementation of atmospheric UFP measurements (particle mobility size spectrometers SMPS), and their associated quality assurance measures during 2012-2014.

A current MSc thesis at TROPOS (B. Hage) is concerned with the meteorological analysis of particle number size distributions and UFP concentrations in across the five cities.

The project involves a close cooperation between TROPOS, the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG), and the health institutes in the five European cities.

UFIREG - Final Conference
