Workshop on mineral dust (7.7.2015, Leipzig)

Dear all,

Following a successful workshop on dust, the 1st Leipziger Staubtag held in March 2014, a 2nd Leipziger Staubtag will fellow this year on

7 July 2015 in Leipzig.

Interactive and interdisciplinary discussion, overview on recent research questions, exchange of experience and knowledge, and networking are some of the main foci of the workshop.  We invite researchers with background from different disciplines such as atmospheric and climate sciences, geography, geology, mineralogy, chemistry, physics, micro-biology and related sciences to present their research, ideas, or concepts.

Some of the research themes may be:

  • Laboratory and field experiments, campaigns
  • sediment records and monitoring
  • Numerical modelling on different spatial and temporal scales
  • Remote sensing
  • Dust interactions and dust feedbacks
  • Dust as transport medium for bacteria and biogenic substances.

 

Some further information:

  • Registration: Please send an email to schepanski@tropos.de by 31.05.2015 indicating your attendance and title and presentation type (oral/poster) if you want to give a presentation.
  • Depending on the number of presentations, we may shift some presentations from oral to poster.
  • The Program will be ready and distributed in June 2015.
  • Language during the workshop will be English.
