Final Conference about "Ultrafine particles and Health"

The final conference of the project ULTRASCHWARZ ("Ultrafine particles and Health") will take place on December 4, 2014 in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic.

Within the project, German and Czech project partners jointly examine the effects of ultrafine particles on human health, especially respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Measures to improve air quality will be based on the findings across borders developed. In addition, permanent, routine measurement of ultrafine particles in the study areas were being prepared. Our main research areas are Annaberg-Buchholz in Germany and Ústí nad Labem in Czech Republic. Both areas are located in the so-called "Black Triangle", a term that has been heavily influenced by the political changes and indicates the border area between Saxony, Northern Bohemia and Lower Silesia. In this region, the highest air pollution in Europe was measured at former times.
