Overview

The determination of the vertical distribution of aerosol particles is an important field of work at TROPOS. In particular the lidar measurements which are performed by Working Group Ground-based Remote Sensing contribute to a large extent to the improved understanding of the distribution of aerosols and their long-range transport in the free atmosphere.

This page provides an overview on the methods that are available at TROPOS to detect and to characterize aerosol layers.
