Staubtag – Interdisciplinary Workshop Series on Dust Research

The Staubtag is a cross-disciplinary workshop series dedicated to dust research. Since 2014, it has regularly brought together researchers from various disciplines – including meteorology, climatology, geology, geography, oceanography, physics, chemistry, microbiology, and agricultural sciences.

The aim is to exchange current questions and research results on mineral dust, strengthen links between disciplines, and foster new collaborations in dust research.

The workshop focuses on providing an overview of ongoing and planned research, short oral and poster presentations, interdisciplinary discussions, and opportunities for networking and joint project ideas.

Topics are intentionally broad, ranging from field and laboratory studies to modelling, remote sensing, cloud and radiation interactions, palaeo studies, and research on impacts on humans and society. Contributions from related or previously unrepresented research areas are explicitly welcome.

Staubtag 2025

The next Staubtag will take place on 6–7 November 2025 at the NIOZ – Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research on the island of Texel, the Netherlands.
