Research areas & research interest:

  • Research theme: Interactions between ocean and atmosphere • Analytical method development for the trace analysis of natural organic compounds in marine samples (hyphenated MS-techniques: GC-MS, LC-MS)
  • Planning and performing of field campaigns for the sampling of marine aerosol particles and seawater (research cruises, atmospheric stations)


Current projects:

  • PI in the SAW project MarParCloud (2016-2018) 
  • DFG project: Aliphatic amines in the tropical marine environment: Sources, budgets and phase partitioning (ALAMARE) (2016-2017)
  • Transregio project: Arctic Amplification (AC3) (2016-2019) o BMBF project: Surface Ocean Processes in the Anthropocene (SOPRAN) (2013-2016) ⇒ PI in the sub project: Oceanic export of organic matter: comprehensive data interpretation



  • Since 2012: Lecturer in the postgraduate studies “Analytics and Spectroscopy” at the University of Leipzig  



  • 10/2015: Participation in the Future Leaders Programme of the Science and Technology in Society Forum (STS-Forum), Kyoto, Japan
