audit "berufundfamilie": TROPOS receives award again

Leipzig. The Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS) has been awarded the "berufundfamilie" certificate for the fourth time. It is one of 287 employers who were honoured in 2021 for their family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policies and family-friendly working and study conditions. For those who, like TROPOS, were awarded the certificate for the fourth time, the award has a permanent character.

135 companies, 118 institutions and 34 universities had successfully completed the audit “berufundfamilie” or audit “familiengerechte hochschule” in the previous twelve months and now received the corresponding certificate. Those awarded the certificate, which is regarded as a seal of quality for the sustainable design of company compatibility policies, are entitled to wear it for three years. During this period, they are required to pursue the family- and life-phase-conscious measures agreed upon in the target agreement or in the action programme. The berufundfamilie Service GmbH reviews the development annually. Across Germany, 698,400 employees and 390,300 students can benefit from the family- and life-phase-conscious commitment of the 287 current certificate recipients.

The commitment was celebrated on 22 June 2021 at a certificate online event that was streamed from Berlin. Among the well-wishers were Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of berufundfamilie Service GmbH, John-Philip Hammersen, Managing Director of the non-profit Hertie-Stiftung, as well as key note speaker Dr. Auma Obama and the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Christine Lambrecht.
