- Chemical compounds in the marine atmosphere, including carbohydrates, alkylamines and major inorganic ions
- Ocean-atmosphere interactions
- Development of analytical methods for marine aerosol, cloud water and seawater analysis (e.g., ion chromatography, electrodialysis)
- Fieldwork planning and execution, including research cruises and atmospheric station campaigns
