Experiments in flow systems are used to investigate important gas-phase processes in the tropospheric multiphase system. These studies often involve OH and ozoneolysis reactions, including the determination of kinetic reaction parameters and mechanistic investigations into product formation. Important classes of reactants include atmospherically significant aliphatic compounds such as isoprene, aromatics, sulfur-containing compounds such as DMS, and terpenes. Highly oxidized molecules (HOMs) and peroxyl radicals are identified, and their behavior under tropospheric gas-phase conditions is investigated.
