"Recent research highlights a troubling trend: over the last three decades, Central Asia has become 7% dustier. This increase corresponds with a near doubling of dust emissions, escalating from 14 million tons in 1984 to 27 million tons by 2015. The study, conducted by a team from the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research and the Free University of Berlin, suggests that these figures are likely underestimated."
